Beyond Angkor:

Day 1 Phnom Penh - Kratie Transfer by speedboat from Phnom Penh via Kampong Cham to Kratie Journey north along the Mekong River past Mekong Island and the provincial town of Kampong Cham. - Afternoon at leisure Overnight in Kratie

Day 2 Kratie - Stung Treng (Breakfast: Hotel) Capital of Kratie Province, Kratie is a pleasant, small riverside town on the Mekong River. Sightseeing in Kratie: WAT PHNOM SAMBOK: situated 9 km north of Kratie, there are two peaks here, Phnom Srey and Phnom Proh. Phnom Srey has a small pagoda (built in 1938) and a beautiful view of the Mekong. Local people visit to request better health for their relatives. Phnom Proh also has a small pagoda with monks and nuns living around it. DOLPHIN OBSERVATION PARK: 14 km north of Kratie town is the Irawaddy dolphin observation park, home to about 50 dolphins. Afternoon Kratie to Stung Treng Journey along the Mekong River basin through the villages of Sambok, Sre Sbov and Phumi Prek Preah. The Mekong River, which rises in Tibet, flows 315 km through Cambodia before continuing on through Vietnam to the sea. Overnight in Stung Treng

Day 3 Stung Treng (Breakfast: Hotel) Sightseeing in the surroundings of Stung Treng Excursion to visit fishing and farming villages. Boat ride up the Semsak river.

Day 4 Drive Stung Treng - Banlung- Rattanakiri (Breakfast: Hotel) Journey east to Rattanakiri Province, a remote region of densely forested mountains and isolated hill tribes, crossing the Mekong River and the Sre Pok River. Sightseeing in/around Banlung (full day) Excursion in the surroundings of Banlung, with visits to Teuk Cha Ong waterfall, Yeak Laom lake, a zircon mine and a pepper plantation. TEUK CHA ONG: a spectacular waterfall in a jungle gorge. The other attractions in this area are the isolated ethnic minority villages and a zircon mine. YEAK LAOM: a volcanic lake which forms a near perfect circle and is surrounded by tropical forest. Possibility to swim. Visit the nearby museum. Overnight in Rattanakiri

Day 5 Banlung - Rattanakiri (Breakfast: Hotel) Visit the local market at Bar Kaev Full day sightseeing in/around Banlung Visit a local market. Excursion by vehicle to several minority villages such as Andoung Meas. Boat ride to Phoum Dal and another village. On the way visit a rubber plantation.

Day 6 Banlung - Rattanakiri (Breakfast: Hotel) Excursion to Ta Vaeng TA VAENG: Travel by 4WD to Ta Veang and visit various minority villages in the Ta Vaeng area. The people of these villages live in the countryƕs mountainous regions and are known as Khmer Ioeu (upper Khmer). They number approximately 70,000 and the majority are located in the northeastern provinces such as Rattanakiri, Mondulkiri, Stung Treng, and Kratie. Groups include the Jorai, Tumpoun, Krung, Kra Chok and Kavet.

Day 7 Banlung - Rattanakiri (Breakfast: Hotel) Excursion by vehicle and boat to Vuen Sai Boat trip to visit a Lao village, a Chinese village and a village of the ethnic minority Tompoum with an intesting cemetery. Afterwards visit a zircon mining field and, if time permits, some more villages.

Day 8 Rattanakiri (Breakfast: Hotel). Transfer - Flight from Banlung to Phnom Penh

Arts and Crafts Tour
This tour explores the resurgence in Cambodia's rich arts and crafts heritage. In Phnom Penh, visitors observe novice dancers being trained in the rigorous discipline of Apsara dancing at the school of Fine Arts, followed by a visit to the private workshops of the Prayuvong Buddha Factories, which devote themselves to restoring Buddha images destroyed by the Khmer Rouge. The following day includes an excursion to Koh Dach, an island famous for silk production. From Phnom Penh, visitors continue to Siem Reap, where they will tour a silk farm and basket-weaving village. The last day is spent among the famous Angkor Temples.

Cambodian Sampling
A wide range of destinations, this tour begins at the temples of Angkor before proceeding to Phnom Penh. From Phnom Penh, the tour journeys through typical Cambodian countryside to reach the colonial-era hill station of Phnom Bokor, situated on the second-highest mountain in Cambodia. The tour comes to a leisurely close at the beachside resort of Kampong Som, where visitors may relax on the beach or opt for a round of golf at the upcoming beachfront golf course.
