The island nation of Sri Lanka is a land of beauty and of pageants and processions dating back over 2,500 years. We will journey through history from Colombo to the medieval capital of Polonnaruwa and to the World Heritage City of Kandy with its tea plantations. Enroute, we will enjoy visits to the Golden Temple and its caves, spice gardens, the Dutch Period Museum and the National Museum. During our journey, we will also visit the Sri Maha Bodhi, the oldest historically documented tree in the world, dating back over 2000 years. This Bodhi tree was grown from the same tree under which Prince Siddhartha meditated in Bodhgaya India, where he attained enlightment and became known as The Buddha.
