Eco Delta: 11 Days

Day 1: Arrival in Ho Chi Minh (D)
Arrival at Tan Son Nhat Airport. Pick-up and transfer to hotel. City tour: History Museum, stroll through bustling Chinatown, Thien Hau Temple, Binh Tay Market and lacquer workshop. Evening: dinner and cultural show on Saigon boat. O/N in HCMC.

Day 2: HCM Ð Xeo Quit Ð Vinh Long
Morning: transfer to Xeo Quit, boat ride to guerrilla stronghold in Cajeput forest. Afternoon: transfer to Vinh Long. Evening: southern folk song show. O/N local home. Day 3: Vinh Long (L, D) Full day exploration of Binh Hoa Phuoc islet by bike, sampan and on foot. Visit to local homes, orchards and participation in local activities: gardening, fishing, cooking and sports. Lunch, dinner & O/N at local home. Day 4: Vinh Long Ð Can Tho Morning: boat ride to Vinh Long. Bicycle-drawn cab ride around town, visit to main market and Long Ho handicraft hamlet. Afternoon: overland to Ba Cang, boat ride to Khmer village, local market, bean curd makers. O/N in Can Tho.

Day 5: Can Tho Ð HCMC (D)
Morning: boat ride on Mekong River, visit to Cai Rang and Phong Dien floating markets. Overland to Can Tho. Afternoon: return to HCMC. Evening: cooking practice and dinner at local home. O/N in HCMC.

Day 6: HCMC Ð Can Gio - HCMC
Full day excursion to Can Gio Mangrove Reserve. Sampan cruise on tidal creeks, visit to monkey reserve, local home, orchard and oyster farm. O/N in HCMC.

Day 7: HCM - Hanoi
Morning: flight to Hanoi. Pick-up and transfer to hotel. Afternoon: city tour: Ethnology Museum, Temple of Literature, old quarters and pedicab ride (1 hour) around town. Evening: water puppet show. O/N in Hanoi.

Day 8: Hanoi Ð Bac Ninh - Hanoi (L)
Morning: transfer to Bat Trang village, visit to pottery kilns. Then, participation in farm work with local peasants at Da Ton Village. Transfer to Bac Ninh. Lunch of country dishes. Afternoon: visit to But Thap Pagoda, Dong Ho traditional printing village and Dong Ky wood-carving village. O/N in Hanoi.

Day 9: Hanoi Ð Ha Tay Ð Ninh Binh
Morning: transfer to Thanh Oai District, hike (2 km) to Chuong hamlet conical hat fair. Onwards to My Duc District. Afternoon: boat ride on Yen stream to Thien Tru Temple. Transfer to Ninh Binh. O/N in Ninh Binh.

Day 10: Ninh Binh - Hanoi
Morning: visit to Dinh & Le Dynasty temples. Bike ride (12 km) on rough road to boat landing. Boat ride to Tam Coc. Return to Hanoi. O/N in Hanoi.

Day 11: Departure from Hanoi
Downtown shopping (ceramics, silver-carvings, silk...) or at leisure before check-out. Transfer to airport for departure.
